Carwatha College
This month we had the opportunity give
one of our older websites a complete makeover.
Carwatha College wanted a brand new look, something that was modern and
informative. The site is already getting great feedback!
Upskilling
For the past few months we have been training ourselves in the use of
Microsoft's Expression suite of products. Previously the bulk of our web design
work has been done using a combination of Adobe Photoshop and InDesign and while
this has been fine, there has always been a considerable gulf between the
creative design work and the more technical programming work, for which heavily
rely upon Microsoft's Visual Studio for. Expression bridges that gap by allowing
developers and designers to work effectively on the same files without the need
for conversion.
This month we
began using Expression as our first choice for commercial website production.
The learning curve, whilst high, has been well worth the productivity gains we
have realised. Photoshop will always have a special place in our hearts though,
so we won't be uninstalling it just yet.
We're Blogging!
Yes, after many months of touting the benefits of blogging to our customers, we
are finally practicing what we preach! Expectra's blog will be a forum for presenting
ideas for improving our customers websites and discussing emerging technologies and
trends. Check it out, and be sure to subscribe!.
Christmas Trading
Expectra will close for the Christmas period on Friday, December 18 and
reopen again on Monday, January 4. During this period customers
